Azathioprine

Azathioprine is a drug that suppresses the immune system. It is useful in treating immune diseases of the bowel, such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease, and in treating immune disease of the liver, such as chronic active hepatitis.

Most patients tolerate the medication well. However, it is important for you to know about the possible side effects.
